Data Genomix, a big data and marketing technology startup in Cleveland, announced it has raised a Series A funding round of an undisclosed amount.

The round was led by Edward Crawford, the chairman and CEO of Park-Ohio Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: PKOH), and Zanite Ventures, a Cleveland-based early stage venture capital firm.

It’s the first venture capital round for Data Genomix, which in a news release announcing the funding described itself as a firm that “brings leading-edge targeting, analytics and machine learning to industries such as the online recruiting vertical.” (Go here to read a June 2016 Crain’s profile of the company that focused on its work in helping political groups and other organizations use social media to send targeted messages to voters, donors and customers.)
