Ohio State spinoff making sense of medical Big Data raises $8M, growing in Brewery District

An Ohio State University spinoff has raised $8 million from a private equity firm to speed sales of its software that lets health researchers analyze patient data from different sites without worrying about privacy breaches or incompatible formats.

Signet Accel Inc. will use proceeds of the series A round to grow from 31 employees to about 50 employees by mid-2018. It’s planning to double its office space at 585 S. Front St., above Claddagh Irish Pub in the Brewery District.

“I am very excited about having our business in Columbus,” CEO John Raden said. “I continue to be delighted by the quality of people who have become part of our team.”
