Fintech71 used the setting at last week’s Finnovate financial tech startup conference in New York to announce the innaugural cohort of their accelerator.

10 startups were chosen for the 10 week cohort fintech accelerator program. Business leaders across the region came together with nonprofit JobsOhio to launch Fintech71.

The startups chosen from the program hail from all over the world. Of the ten startups chosen only five are from the U.S. The other five are from the UK, Ireland, Israel, Portugal and India.

Each team will receive $100,000 stipend in exchange for a flexible stage opportunity equity stake. They will also receive mentoring from a network of over 100 mentors. While the companies are in Columbus they will receive free office space downtown that extends through a six month period. Of course they will also receive introductions to important investors and industry leading executives.
