A Columbus technology company that pairs dental insurance with an internet-connected toothbrush has raised $5.5 million toward expanding into more states, and now is bundling in vision benefits from industry giant VSP Global.
Beam Dental raised the Series B round from past lead investor Drive Capital LLC and St. Louis, Missouri-based Lewis and Clark Venture Capital LLC, both of which focus their investing on the Midwest.
“It’s rare to see a true disruptor within the benefits space, but Beam is precisely that,” Ron Watson, Lewis and Clark principal, said in a statement. “We are delighted to add Beam to our portfolio and view the company’s smart, scalable approach to benefits as demonstrative of its staying power.”
