Cincinnati’s Mortar, the accelerator born in Over-the-Rhine to help entrepreneurial residents rise with their neighborhood, won a national Small Business Administration contest.
Mortar launched in Over-the-Rhine in 2014 to provide coaching, mentoring and business skills lessons to residents who were wanting to take advantage of their up-and-coming neighborhood but may be overlooked by traditional resource providers. Since then, it has expanded to four more neighborhoods: Walnut Hills, the West End, Avondale and Uptown (serving Clifton, CUF, Corryville and Mount Auburn).
