Ohio asks citizen scientists, caregivers for ideas in challenge to address opiate epidemic (video)

Do you have an idea or a technology solution to combat the opiate epidemic in Ohio?

A University of Akron professor recently was awarded $2 million to commercialize a surgical mesh designed to control patients’ pain and avoid potential addiction to pain pills.

But the prize-based Ohio Opioid Technology Challenge is open to everyone, from caregivers and citizen scientists to service providers and researchers. The state’s goal is to collect ideas that address opiate prevention, treatment, overdose avoidance or overdose response.
