CLEVELAND, Ohio – The fourth annual Accelerate civic pitch competition takes place this month with 25 finalists touting ideas to create positive change in Cleveland.
The top winners will take home cash and incentives to launch their businesses. But last year’s winners say connections and guidance meant more than the money.
Just last week, a finalist in this year’s competition Jowan Smith left her job as a Cuyahoga County caseworker to become a full-time entrepreneur. She says she owes it all to being involved in the competition’s process.
