Miami University has entered into a shared services agreement with the University of Dayton to help commercialize its research.
The agreement to share technology transfer activities will provide support for patent exploration and other areas of development and commercialization of research completed in Southwest Ohio.
“This agreement allows us to streamline operations to avoid the duplication of processes and infrastructure within the Dayton region,” said Jim Oris, associate provost for research and scholarship at Miami.
The schools have also submitted a joint request to Ohio Third Frontier for matching funds to create a technology validation and startup fund. Third Frontier works to accelerate growth of diverse startup and early-stage technology companies in the state.
