In time for March Madness, TicketFire has added the ability to buy digital tickets to its app that already lets users upload paper tickets and re-sell them – for the first time competing directly with secondary-market sellers such as StubHub and Ticketmaster.
About 1,000 tickets were purchased in the first weeks of a quiet rollout, said Ray Shealy, chairman of the Columbus startup. Unlike other secondary sellers, TIcketFire builds its margin into the displayed price, so what you see is what you pay.
