Dayton biotech startup forms partnership to accelerate product development

A local biotech startup has formed a partnership to help bring its product to market.

Dayton-based AMB Surgical entered into an agreement this week with AcceLINX, a health business accelerator that will provide consulting services to help develop the company’s medical device.

The product, known as the “Flyte Smart Automated Growing Rod,” is meant to treat juvenile scoliosis and help with limb development and traumatic injuries.

The FLYTE rod has the potential to “revolutionize treatment of scoliosis and long-bone deformities.” The startup uses patented technology to electronically control the extension of rods used to direct skeletal alignment.
