Silicon Valley was built over peach and apricot orchards. The next wave of breakout companies will arise in the soybean fields of the Midwest – and why not Columbus, says venture capitalist Mark Kvamme.

The cofounder of Drive Capital LLC, who’s a California native, witnessed the advent of the first three “waves” of computing power – the first room-filling mainframe computers, the personal computer then the “constantly connected consumer” world of social media and smartphones.
