Cincinnati ‘smart socks’ startup boosts funding, employees

 Palarum LLC, the Warren County startup developing smart socks to alert health care facilities when a patient steps out of bed or a chair and risks falling, recently raised $3.8 million in a Series A round of funding.

The money from a group of unnamed local investors, which more than doubles the $3.4 million in seed funding raised in 2017, will enable Palarum to fine-tune its technology and broaden commercial applications, said Chris Baker, co-founder and vice president of marketing and sales.
