The head of a rocketing Columbus startup that’s raised one of the year’s biggest rounds from one of Silicon Valley’s most prominent venture capital funds had this advice for a group of fresh entrepreneurs: Expect insurmountable obstacles and existential crises.

“Success is not a straight line,” said Alex Frommeyer, CEO and co-founder of Beam Dental. “That’s really tough to remember when you’re in the throes of it.”
