Apportis in Dublin has made it their mission to make opioid recovery easier. Through web and mobile technology, they connect those struggling with addiction to on-demand counselors in a virtual 24/7 support network. Their “big red button” helps fill in the gaps during recovery and makes rehabilitation more accessible. After receiving a $200,000 prize from Ohio Third Frontier’s Ohio Opioid Technology Challenge, Apportis hopes to populate their app with even more local resources, creating a holistic program of care. They will progress to the next phase of the challenge and expand their existing wellness program to offer more opportunities to connect face to face via kiosks, bringing support to the public sphere.
