University of Akron’s Startup Challenge is more than a pitch contest

On Thursday, Nov. 29, six teams of University of Akron students will make their pitches and vie for the $10,000 prize in the finals of the UA/eBay Startup Challenge.

While pitch competitions are nothing new, this one gives a glimpse into how the university’s Experiential Learning Center for Entrepreneurship and Civic Engagement is working to fulfill its mission and how the community is getting on board, including one of the Akron area’s newest players, eBay.
