Former Kroger executive’s startup raises $11M Series A

An artificial intelligence firm founded by a former Kroger executive announced Thursday it had raised an $11 million Series A round of funding.

Vndly, co-founded by Shashank Saxena, the former head of corporate strategy and integration at Kroger, and Narayana Surabhi, former general manager at Cincinnati IT firm CSC, raised the Series A round, led by Battery Ventures and Hyde Park Ventures, with participation from Epic Ventures, Bowery Capital and the Cintrifuse Syndicate Fund.
