Nationwide Children’s Hospital commercializes its researchers’ inventions
Eleven years ago, Nationwide Children’s Hospital started the Office of Technology Commercialization to help transfer inventions and innovations from the hospital’s research department to market. It has come a long way since then and is poised to become a gene therapy center. Matt McFarland, vice president of commercialization for the hospital, said efforts have expanded in recent years, topping out in 2017 with revenue of $36 million. He spoke recently with Columbus CEO, a sister publication to The Dispatch.
