SPR Therapeutics announces results of latest study
SPR Therapeutics Inc., a Cleveland medical device company that’s developed a neurostimulation platform for pain management, has announced the results of a study of its SPRINT Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS) System in the treatment of post-amputation pain, according to a news release.
The study showed that short-term PNS therapy “may provide enduring clinically significant pain relief, reduce opioid use and improve quality of life in patients with post-amputation pain, a type of neuropathic pain,” according to the release. Neuropathic pain, which often occurs following an injury to peripheral nerves, is a common and challenging condition following amputation.
