NEOMED’s REDIzone is helping to turn research into reality

Biomedical innovations — including stimulating bone formation, improving wound treatment and creating surgical mesh — are among the success stories emanating from an unassuming corridor of labs and offices at the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED).

The REDIzone, which opened in 2014, has drawn startups to rural Portage County because it provides space, amenities and connections to a network of investors, executives and organizations that support innovation.

And — in what may be its best draw — it offers access to Northeast Ohio’s only animal testing center available to independent researchers.
