A recent Ohio University graduate has raised $1.4 million in seed funding to launch a new Columbus-area startup that he describes as the LinkedIn of the esports industry.
The company, eFuse, is a web and mobile application geared toward connecting gamers, coaches, recruiters and business professionals in the booming esports industry, which could reach an audience of 450 million this year. An estimate from Goldman Sachs predicts esports revenue could top $3 billion in the coming decade.
The eFuse platform is backed by the Ohio Innovation Fund, which provided some of the seed funding. It will formally launch Dec. 10.
