Northwest Ohio natives behind promising minimally invasive cancer treatment

A start-up company with strong local ties is developing new technology poised to dramatically improve the treatment of some cancerous tumors.

MediView XR was founded in 2017 by John Black of Bowling Green and Adam Rakestraw of Findlay. The company licenses an augmented-reality surgical guidance and navigation technology invented by Sylvania native Jeff Yanof, now of Solon, Ohio, and Karl West, of Geneva, Ohio.
