Burton D. Morgan Foundation awards nearly $1.5 million in entrepreneurship grants, including several in Akron

The Burton D. Morgan Foundation on Tuesday, Feb. 11, announced nearly $1.5 million in grants for programs and initiatives that support entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education in Northeast Ohio, with a particular focus on Akron.

Among the grants are several that focus on Rubber City programs, including $252,500 going to the Bounce Innovation Hub, the city’s accelerator, according to a news release. The money will go to back the incubator program, software accelerator and the hub’s Grow initiative, which supports nontech entrepreneurs. The grant also will help fund Northeast Ohio Student Venture programming.
