DeWine: Local firm to use 3D printing for coronavirus testing swabs
COLUMBUS — Gov. Mike DeWine on Wednesday announced an emergency initiative to manufacture swabs and swab kits needed to test for the coronavirus in partnership with several groups, including a Toledo-area 3D printing firm.
FormLabs, Inc., a 3D printing firm that manufactures and designs products for several industries, including health care, will work with Ohio State University and other manufacturing companies in Ohio to make the swabs and kits, the governor said. FormLabs is headquartered in Somerville, Mass., but operates a facility in Millbury at 27800 Lemoyne Rd.
