Wright-Patt physicians, Dayton medical community partner on ‘groundbreaking’ COVID-19 treatment
The Dayton medical community and physicians at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base have coordinated what officials are calling a potentially groundbreaking treatment for COVID-19 patients.
Air Force doctors Maj. Evan Fisher, chief of nephrology, and Maj. Matthew Koroscil, a pulmonary and critical care specialist at Wright-Patterson Medical Center, have teamed up with local healthcare institutions on a new drug protocol for those afflicted with coronavirus. Their work has allowed Premier Health’s Miami Valley Hospital to potentially lead the country in the administration of Mayo Clinic-approved plasma protocol, according to base officials.
