Password protection key to cybersecurity, encryption firm CEO says

Businesses and individuals have a vested interest in protecting their online information. But data breaches have become common, and the majority of them can be traced to a problem with a password.

According to the 2019 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, 80% of hacking-related breaches are caused by compromised or weak passwords.

LockDown, a central Ohio-based company, aims to eradicate the need for passwords with its patented encryption technology. CEO AJ Auld said the LockDown messaging platform anchors a user’s digital identity to his or her smartphone.
