CLEVELAND, Ohio — Looking for the perfect place to pitch a tent? Ohio has hundreds.

The state is home to more than 200 campgrounds, many of them publicly owned. The Ohio state parks, part of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, operate 59 campgrounds; others are run by local and regional organizations.

Reservations are currently required for Ohio’s state park campgrounds and can be made up to six months in advance at reserveohio.com or 1-866-644-6727; overnight rates vary, but start at about $30 per night.
