Fifth Third Bank announces $1.2 million effort to help Black, women entrepreneurs

Cincinnati’s largest homegrown bank is launching a new initiative to boost minority, female entrepreneurs.

This week, Fifth Third is kickstarting a new $1.2 million program, dubbed “Innovation meets Main Street: Boosting Black Women-Owned Businesses,” according to a release. The program will provide a mix of grants, technical assistance or capital infusions to businesses owned by minority women.

The funding will be divided equally between seven markets, including Cincinnati. Other markets include: Atlanta, Charlotte, Detroit, Louisville, Nashville and Orlando. Thirty-five entrepreneurs in each market will receive funding, for a total of 245 businesses.
