Weather permitting, the groundbreaking for NASIC’s five-story Intelligence Production complex is scheduled next week at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, a new chapter in the creation of a home for more than 900 people associated with the National Air and Space Intelligence Center.
Col. Maurizio “Mo” Calabrese, NASIC commander, noted the milestone at the first Ohio Space Forum Thursday, calling Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, NASIC’s home, the “birthplace of space intelligence.”
“It’s going to add about 250,000 square feet,” Calabrese said of the new building. “It’s going to help us — we have about a thousand seats short for the personnel we’ve got. It’s going to help build that out.”
