How a father’s grief led to completion of the Cleveland Metroparks Wendy Park Bridge at Whiskey Island
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland Metroparks is on a tear this year. The regional parks agency is finishing a stupendous series of trail projects connecting its Emerald Necklace reservations to Lake Erie and long-underserved neighborhoods in the heart of Cleveland.
On Thursday at 11 a.m., Metroparks will hold a public ceremony to celebrate the completion of one of those big projects: the $6 million Wendy Park Bridge on Whiskey Island, the triangular peninsula just west of the mouth of the Cuyahoga River.
