A Washington, D.C.-based organization recruited to Cincinnati by Kroger Co. is gearing up for its local pitch competition.

Black Girl Ventures, which aims to give minority, female entrepreneurs access to capital, has launched applications for its local pitch competition in November.

According to its website, the live competition will be voted on by viewers using the platform Raisify, which allows audiences to vote with their dollars. However, the person with the most votes, not dollars, wins.
