Portage River becomes Ohio’s 17th water trail
OAK HARBOR, Ohio — About 60 people gathered on a hot and sunny day near downtown Oak Harbor on Tuesday to welcome the opening of Ohio’s 17th water trail since the program began in 2006.
The Portage River Water Trail is another one of those peaceful, unspoiled waterways where canoeists, kayakers, and rowboat operators can safely float their non-motorized watercraft with confidence and take in a good whiff of nature while paddling.
