Sandusky ‘perfect venue’ for Ironman triathlon

SANDUSKY — It’s safe to say that Sandusky’s first-ever Ironman triathlon made a splash.

Officials representing Sandusky’s city government praised the outcome of Sunday’s event, which drew more than 1,500 competitors — locals and out-of-towners — who swam, cycled and ran for a combined 70.3 miles.
